BTG Eddisons Asset Sales has been instructed by Arla Foods to sell milk bottling and cheese packing equipment across multiple sites.
Coordinating a sale across more than one location
Running an auction across several sites for a single client changes the shape of the job compared with a single-site sale. Equipment needs cataloguing and valuing consistently across locations, so a buyer comparing lots at two different sites is comparing like with like, and viewing and collection need scheduling so that sites are not competing for the same buyer attention or the same haulage capacity in the same week.
Why scale changes the job, not just the size of it
This is where a national auction house with food and drink sector reach earns its place. Sourcing buyers for dairy processing and packing equipment at this scale means drawing on a buyer network well beyond any one site's local market, since the market for this kind of kit is national, not local. The work is less about any single piece of machinery and more about running a multi-site sale as one coherent process.
Director Paul Cooper adds: “Running a sale across more than one site means treating it as one process, not several separate ones. Buyers need to be able to compare equipment across locations properly, and that only works if the cataloguing and valuation are consistent site to site.”
