BTG Eddisons is delighted to announce a significant and rare opportunity to acquire a substantial steel production asset, following instruction from Liberty Steel Newport Limited after the closure of its Newport facility in South Wales.

Now available to the global market is a 1 Million Tonnes Per Year DEMAG SACK Hot Strip Mill, a highly capable and well-equipped installation designed for the production of hot rolled coil in 15-tonne coils, ranging from 800–1500mm in width and 1.5–13mm in thickness.

Originally manufactured circa 1993 and installed and commissioned in Newport in 1999, the mill remained operational until 2023, when it was carefully mothballed. The facility is now being offered for sale as a complete, integrated production line presenting a compelling opportunity for steel producers, investors, and industrial operators worldwide.

Primary Mill Equipment:

·      300 tph Gas-Fired Pusher Furnace

·      2018 Primetals Slab Descaler (230 bar, originally costing approximately £5 million)

·      Demag Sack 2-High Reversing Roughing Mill

·      Fully Automatic Demag Sack Rotary Drum Crop Shear (30mm @ 1000°C, single pass)

·     Bronx Cut-to-Length Line (1500mm x 6mm x 15T capacity)
